In August 2023, the CompactFlash Association announced the CFexpress 4.0 standard, setting a new benchmark with maximum speeds reaching 4GB/s for Type B and 2GB/s for Type A cards. The industry’s transition towards CFexpress 4.0 promises a new era of performance and efficiency in digital data storage. Moreover, these cards maintain full backward compatibility with CFexpress 2.0, ensuring optimal performance even in legacy devices.

Tailored for the compact needs of Sony cameras, the Essential Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A cards redefine performance with speeds up to 1,800 MB/s read and 1,650 MB/s write, along with capacity options extending up to 1TB. This makes them perfectly suited for professional creatives who demand seamless capture and editing of high-resolution footage. Additionally, these cards are VPG400-certified, guaranteeing flawless 8K video capture at frame rates up to 120fps without frame drop.
