Blackmagic Design, a leading manufacturer of digital cinema equipment, kicked off its Blackmagic Design #PopUpWorkshops 2023 in Beijing, which will tour 31 Chinese cities to showcase their newest solutions for film and TV.
Blackmagic Design’s #PopUpWorkshops are based on the exhibition layout of BIRTV 2023 and utilize a rack-mounted installation solution to demonstrate solutions in different application scenarios. At the event, old and new customers can experience Blackmagic Design’s new cameras and technologies right at their doorstep, and learn about the company’s innovations and technology advancements in pre-production, on-site production, and post-production.
Exascend had the pleasure of collaborating with Blackmagic Design during the tour and lending a few of our 1TB 2.5″ SATA SSDs to Blackmagic Design and its professional broadcast deck solutions, including HyperDeck Studio and Blackmagic Videohub 10×10 12G.
The Blackmagic Design recorders that used Exascend SSDs were capable of recording broadcast-quality video files to SD cards and solid-state drives. These models feature more transcoders and quieter heat dissipation, as well as support for H.264, ProRes, and DNxHD, along with PCM and AAC audio recording. The 4K model can also record H.265. They come with a timecode and sync generator for easy and fast multi-camera recording, making these recorders ideal for applications such as TV stations, live production, and multi-screen digital signage.
About HyperDeck Studio
HyperDeck Studio is a professional broadcast-quality video recorder that uses SSDs as storage. It can record the highest quality uncompressed video or compressed video in H.264, ProRes, and DNxHD formats to a 2.5″ SSD. Featuring a dual SSD slot design, it automatically switches to another drive when one is full, allowing for uninterrupted recording.
The recorder allows users to connect their SSD to any computer and work directly without copying media files. Furthermore, the HyperDeck Studio 12G features a native high frame rate Ultra HD design, 12G-SDI, and HDMI 2.0 technology, and supports all SD, HD, and Ultra HD formats.
